Safety Audit and PSSR for Oil Storage Facility

Premier Safety Resources (PSR) was contracted by a midstream company to provide onsite safety inspection services for their new crude oil storage tank and metering station. The objective of the project was to perform a safety audit and assist with the pre-startup safety review (PSSR) of the new equipment prior to commissioning.

PSR began by meeting with facility staff and operations to discuss the project and to gather information about the new equipment and its intended use. PSR then performed a thorough onsite inspection of the storage tank and metering station, paying close attention to all potential safety hazards.

Once the inspection was complete, PSR compiled a detailed safety audit report that identified all of the hazards that had been identified. The report also included recommendations for corrective actions that needed to be taken before the new equipment could be safely commissioned.

PSR then met with the company to discuss the findings of the safety audit and to develop a plan for addressing the identified hazards. PSR also provided assistance with the PSSR process, which is a systematic review of all safety-related aspects of a new process or facility before it is put into operation.

As a result of PSR's services, the midstream company was able to identify and address all of the potential safety hazards associated with their new crude oil storage tank and metering station before commissioning. This helped to ensure the safety of their employees and the environment.
