PSR was contracted to provide confined space training for a contractor who performs refractory repair services. Refractory materials are used in high-temperature industrial processes, and repairs often require workers to enter confined spaces, which can present serious safety hazards.
Training Scope
The training program was designed to meet the requirements of OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.146 standard for confined space entry. The training covered the following key topics:
- Identifying confined spaces
- Understanding confined space permits and safe entry procedures
- Recognizing and evaluating atmospheric hazards
- Using personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Effective communication among confined space teams
- Emergency procedures for confined space incidents
Deliverables
PSR developed and delivered a comprehensive confined space training program tailored to the specific hazards encountered during refractory repair work.
All participants received a certificate of completion documenting their successful participation in the training program.
Benefits
By completing PSR's confined space training program, the contractors employees gained the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely in confined spaces. This training helps to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries associated with confined space entry, while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
